Oil binder mat Terra: unique combination of materials The eco.carbon® oil binder mat Terra is filled with a material based on granulated brown coal. The filling of our Terra bioactive version additionally contains natural microorganisms which break down the oil bound in the mat. The upper surface of the mat is made of a special textile that is oil permeable but water repellent. A durable, impermeable sealing layer on the underside of the mat provides additional protection of the soil. The channel structure of the mat surface allows water (e. g. rain) to drain off rapidly. Bioactive oil binder mats - for the most difficult cases If desired, natural microorganisms can also be added to the filling. These "specialists" are capable of degrading the bound oil, thus cleaning the mats and increasing the absorption capacity of the oil binder mats.
